Scripture
“Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered” Hebrews 5:8 NIV
Observation
Jesus showed through his life that when we obey God, it does not mean we won’t suffer.
His example at the cross, by obeying God the Father, it brought him pain and death. Although he knew the outcome of his obedience, he did it anyway.
Application
When we truly decide to obey God, we need to know that even when obedience brings suffering, by faith we believe that God has higher plans than we can imagine.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV
Prayer
Jesus thank you for this Friday. I pray that every step we give in obedience to you, we will be ready for whatever outcomes it brings to our lives. In faith we believe you always have better things stored for us. In your precious name, I pray.
