It Grows.

Scripture

“It is like a tiny mustard seed that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make nests in its branches” Luke 13:21

Observation

Jesus illustrate the kingdom of God like these tiny mustard seed that grows over time.

Later he also illustrates as a little yeast that makes the bread double in size.

The Kingdom of God which started small grew over the centuries reaching out all the most remote parts of the earth.

Jesus knew the impact those disciples would make, it was not just for a small group of people in Israel. It was something that would change the history of the world.

He had to start small and let it expand and grow.

Application

We cannot expect to make huge changes if there is no small steps to start.

Sometimes we want to accomplish something big, but we are unable to do it, just because we think in the big result, and not in the small steps that we shall give.

We want to see things happening right now.

But, it takes time.

I always hear “start small but start now”.

A small seed can grow into a big fruitful tree.

Yesterday it was Dan’s birthday. He is growing and learning new things everyday.

I think all your creation shows us this: “start small but it grows”.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for this Friday. Let me learn the lesson that you are the one the makes things grow in my life. May my life produce fruits that will display your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
