Scripture
“Jesus replied, “Now is not the right time for me to go, but you can go anytime…You go on. I’m not going to this festival because my time has not yet come.” John 7:6&8 NLT
Observation
Throughout John 5 and 7, Jesus tells others His time has not yet come. He was not making an excuse but closely following God’s plan and timeline. Jesus knew God’s plan and will for His life because He was closely connected. We, too, can get to know God’s plans for our lives by being close to Him, patient in uncertain circumstances, and holding tight to His promises.
Application
- Be close to God. You tend to know more about someone the closer you are to them. You begin to understand what they like and even know how they think. My wife and I feel about things similarly because we spend so much time together. We even buy the same stuff from the grocery store and end up with two of the same things.
Spend time in His Word. The Bible will speak to us, and often, by meditating on what we read, God will direct our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 32:8, Psalm 119:148).
- Know what season we are in. Pastor Tantan gave an excellent sermon on the season we are going through. God is a god of order. He will train us each season to be ready for whatever is coming up in our lives. We must be observant and keep our eyes open to see where we are and what God is teaching and training us.
- Be patient and hold onto His promises. God has a process that we need to go through to handle the talents or gifts He gives. If we try to rush the process, we can end up with less than His best. “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 and Psalm 37:7-8 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.”
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus. I ask that we do the same as Jesus has kept to your plans and schedule. We ask that you teach and guide us in where you lead us. Please help us to take the time to be observant and know what season we are in. Please help us focus our eyes on you, not what others are doing. Also, help us resist the temptation to do things outside of your plans for us. Thank you for having beautiful plans and work for us. Thank you for your guidance and provision. Thank you for your love and grace! Thank you for your salvation! We love you and ask of this in Your Name, Jesus. Amen!

観察
ヨハネによる福音書5章と7章を通して、イエスはご自分の時がまだ来ていないことを他の人々に伝えている。イエスは言い訳をしたのではなく、神の計画と予定に忠実に従われたのである。イエスは自分の人生に対する神の計画と意志を知っておられた。私たちも、神の近くにいて、不確かな状況でも忍耐強く、神の約束をしっかりと守ることによって、自分の人生に対する神の計画を知ることができる。
適用
神に近づきなさい。親しくなればなるほど、その人のことがよくわかるようになる。その人が何を好み、どう考えているのかまで理解できるようになる。私と妻は、一緒にいる時間が長いので、物事について似たようなことを感じている。スーパーで同じものを買っても、結局同じものを2つ買ってしまうほどだ。
主の御言葉の中で過ごす。聖書は私たちに語りかけ、多くの場合、読んだことを黙想することによって、神は私たちの人生を導いてくださる。(2テモテ3:16、詩篇32:8、詩篇119:148）。
私たちがどのような季節にいるかを知る。タンタン牧師は、私たちが通っている季節について素晴らしい説教をした。神は秩序の神である。私たちの人生に何が起こっても大丈夫なように、季節ごとに私たちを訓練してくださる。私たちは観察力を持ち、私たちがどこにいて、神が私たちに何を教え、訓練しておられるのか、目を見開いていなければなりません。
忍耐強く、神の約束にしがみつきなさい。神には、私たちが神から授かった才能や賜物を扱うために必要なプロセスがある。
「あきらめなければ、やがて刈り取ることができるからです」。ガラテヤ6:9、詩篇37:7-8「主の御前に静まり、忍耐強く主を待ち望みなさい！怒りを慎み、怒りを捨てよ！それは悪を招くだけだ。”
祈り
天の父なる神様、イエスの御名によってあなたの前に参ります。イエスがあなたのご計画とスケジュールを守ってくださったように、私たちも同じようにしてください。あなたが私たちを導いてくださるところを教え導いてください。どうか私たちが時間をかけて観察し、私たちがどの季節にいるのかを知ることができるようにしてください。他の人が何をしているかではなく、あなたに目を向けることができるようにしてください。また、私たちのためにあなたの計画から外れたことをする誘惑に負けないようにしてください。私たちのために美しい計画と働きをしてくださることを感謝します。あなたの導きと備えを感謝します。あなたの愛と恵みに感謝します！あなたの救いに感謝します！私たちはあなたを愛し、イエスの御名によってお願いします。アーメン！
