Preventing a Big Mistake

Scripture

“If a ruler’s anger rises against you, do not leave your post; calmness can lay great offenses to rest.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation

The last part of this verse in Portuguese is something like: “Calmness prevents big mistakes”.

If a ruler’s anger rises against us, the first normal step is to take action quickly, to defend ourselves or justify what we did, so we won’t suffer severe consequences.

But by acting on impulse, we can easily fall into a big mistake.

Application

I need to learn to control my impulses better.

To analyze a situation calmly even if the environment pushes me to act fast.

In this way, I can avoid a big mistake.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for today. Heal my family that has been sick for a few days and protect those who are around us. Give us your strength, in Jesus’ name I pray.
