Observation
The human point of view focus on what is seen.
The Christ point of view focus on what is in the heart.
In this session Paul is challenging the church to see what is in the heart rather than taken pride in what is seen.
He explains that once we lived a life with these human point of view, judging by the appearances. We even judged Christ, through the human point of view before knowing Him.
But now, we know Him differently. And He gave us a new life.
And the love of Christ that once convinced us, now compels us to reach other through the ministry of reconciliation.
Application
To see things through the human point of view is very easy, maybe we all do daily.
We judge people, even without knowing them, by what we see. We also constantly create a image of people every time we meet them, and shape that image as we get to know them more. Then, a lot of times the image we created about themselves and who they actually were was not the same, and we get disappointed at them for not reaching our expectations about them.
The challenge for me today is: focus on what is in the heart.
See what Jesus did in my life, transforming me a new me every day, and see what He is also doing in the person’s life.
Rather than putting a glasses with the world point of view, let me put a glasses of Christ’s point of view.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for your word that teaches me everyday. Help me to practice to see in the other people, the work that you are doing in their lives, not by what is shown externally, but what you are working in their hearts. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
