His masterpiece

Scripture:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)

Observation:

  • God’s grace serves as the foundation of our salvation; it’s not something we earn or achieve—it’s a gift.
  • Our salvation doesn’t depend on our own efforts or works. Boasting is excluded because it’s all about God’s grace.
  • We are God’s handiwork—His masterpiece—created in Christ Jesus.
  • God has specific good works prepared for each of us.

Application:

  • I am reminded that salvation is a gift, not something I can earn.
  • Reflecting on areas where I might feel pride in my achievements, I need to trust in Christ and His grace alone.
  • As God’s masterpiece, I am open to His work being done in and through me?

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing grace that saved me. Help me walk in humility, recognizing that it’s all about You. Show me the good works You’ve prepared for me, and empower me to live them out. Amen.
