Scripture
“Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people.”
— Hebrews 2:17
Observation:
One of the lies the devil uses on us is making us feel like we are the only ones that are struggling with a particular vice or sin. Yet Jesus has taken upon Himself ALL of the weaknesses, sins, and shame that we face. Jesus KNOWS the pain and struggle we face. Therefore, Jesus extends His mercy and grace to us because He has been through and taken every one of our sins. So what is keeping me from bringing before Him my struggles?
Application
Jesus is inviting me to come to Him and talk. He is desiring that I come before Him and confess my sins and struggles. He is also asking me to share this Good News. We are stubborn people, and especially when there is the threat of punishment, we would choose to stay away. I need to get on my knees and be open before the Lord with my challenges and struggles. Additionally, I also need to share the Good News. Others need to know that they are not alone. They need to know there is a Savior that will not condemn them but heal them and extend His love and grace to them when they repent.
Prayer
Thank you, God Almighty, for sending your Son, who took on all of our sins and shame. Now He extends His love and grace to us. I praise You for this, God Almighty! Thank you for saving me and those you know as your children. I love you and ask of this in Your Name, Jesus. Amen!!
