Bolder and More Intentional

“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.””
— Mark 8:38 NKJV

What makes it so difficult to share Jesus with others? Jesus is warning us not to be ashamed of sharing The Gospel. We are not undercover citizens of heaven, but we may act in ways that make it difficult for people to know. The Holy Spirit spoke to me that if we say we love others, then why are we not sharing Jesus with them? Perhaps it may be fear of what others may think. It may be a feeling of not knowing enough.

We are living in a generation that hates Christianity. Yet, even though there are so many people that are against Christianity, we are called to speak to them and be ambassadors of Christ. Yes, we may lose relationships, but what Jesus says is more frightening.

I think fear of what others may think is what drives many of us to act, at least in my own case. The Holy Spirit is saying that God hasn’t given us a spirit of weakness and fear but one of boldness and power. I need to be bolder and more intentional in sharing Christ with others. I honestly feel scared of finding myself in an argument over Christ, should I choose to share Jesus with others. This is one area that I know Jesus is changing in my life. Who is the Lord directing me to reach out to? I know there are a few people I am getting prompted to share Christ with, so I need to pray for the strength and boldness to get up and do it.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I am not afraid to share that I am a Christian. I am not ashamed of You. But what I do lack is sharing You with others. I know You have empowered us with a spirit of power and boldness, I pray that you direct me to whom you would like me to share the Gospel. Grant me the words and a heart of love. I ask for your forgiveness for struggling with the fear of what others may think. Help me to overcome this and to live bolder for You. I love you and thank you for being my Lord and Savior. In Your Precious Name, Jesus. Amen!
