Scripture
“But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”
Matthew 10:19-20
Observation
Jesus was sending out his disciples to proclaim the message that the kingdom of heavens had come. He asked the disciples to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and drive out demons.
He asked them to do all that for free.
He also warned them that not always they would be welcomed. In contrast, they actually would be persecuted by obey his words. But when these things happens, he asked them to not worry, as for the Holy Spirit would speak through them.
Application
Sometimes, we will be questioned and pressure because we share the good news: the kingdom of heavens has come.
But we don’t have to worry but trust that God will speak through us. He will give us what to say.
This week, I saw a post from a high school friend on Facebook. There were pictures of him getting baptized. I was so surprised and thankful that he gave his life to Jesus. I remembered the time on high school when I spoke about Jesus to him, but he never took me serious about it. I even don’t remember anymore the words I have shared. After the post, I messaged him and he replied me privately:
“Brother, you were always by my side and I never did realize that it was the grace of God with me. I ask myself, if I had met the true love of Jesus way back then, I think I would have hurt less people along my life. But from now on, I will too, be a channel of God’s blessings to other people…”
F.S.
In this passage Jesus asks us “as you go”:
- Proclaim this message “The Kingdom of Heaves has come”.
- Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons.
- Freely we received, freely we shall give.
- Don’t worry about the provision.
- Don’t worry about the response of others.
- Don’t worry about what to say or how to say it.
God is faithful and he will use us when we become available to proclaim his message.
Prayer
Thank you Jesus for that you save us. Your work does not follow our agenda and you have the perfect time to bring people’s to true repentance. I pray that as I go, you give me the right words, what to Sau and how to say. May your Spirit speak through me. In Your name, I pray.
