“He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;.”
— ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭78:5-7‬‬ ESV

Part of the duty of each generation is to teach the next generation about the works of the Lord God Almighty and to put their hope in Him. It is not a suggestion but a responsibility of each generation to pass on the mighty works of God. How can we do this?

I remember one of the sayings from St. Francis of Assisi: “Preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary use words.” People, especially children, pick up on our actions. We usually convey our hearts by our behaviors and how we lead our lives. God has given us the opportunity to share the Gospel without even having to say a word. For instance, how we treat others, show love to others, or live the Bible to others. Pastor Tantan reminded me about how my being there for my kids is a priority over being at a meeting. My kids will understand more of God’s love through how I treat them at home than if I tell them that God loves them. Of course, my prayer is that they will emulate what they see me doing in their own lives as a testimony of God’s Word in their lives.

Our responsibility is to share the Gospel with each generation through our lives and how we live and sometimes even use words.

Thank you, Jesus, for granting us the opportunity to share the Gospel with the next generation. Grant us the boldness to reach out and share your word with those with whom we have contact. We pray that you help us to use the talents and abilities that you have blessed us with to share your Word and give hope to those who need you. Thank you so much, Jesus, for your grace and love. We love you and ask of this in your Name, Jesus! Amen
