Scripture
“To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.” Daniel 1:17 NIV
Observation
Daniel and his friends decided to not contaminate themselves with the luxuries of the kingdom they went captive, instead they kept faithful to God’s even in small things, like what to eat. God honored them with knowledge and wisdom both, natural and spiritual.
Later on, the king found no one who could guess and interprete his dreams.
“Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these:” Daniel 2:27-28 NIV
In all times, they seek for God and gave the credits to God alone, with all the wonders that happened to them in the Babylon kingdom.
Application
It is important to remember to give all the credits to God.
The gifts that he gave us help us to accomplish a lot of things in life, like, family goals, work and ministry, but if we do not give the praise and the credits to God, pride will show up in our hearts.
By recognizing God as the source of our blessings and gifts, he becomes the center of all the attention in our lives.
Nothing we do is for ourselves, but to bless people around us and give praises that belongs to God.
Prayer
Graciously Father, thank you for the gifts you gave me. All is yours and for you it shall return. Praise be your name! In Jesus’ name, I pray.
