Observation
The verse above is part of the sermon of the mount, where Jesus challenges us to think in a different way and to have an attitude that is contrary to what we think would be as common sense.
Application
In this part, Jesus tells us to:
- not judge others
- not condemn others
- forgive others
The lesson is that if we are critical instead of compassionate, it will come back to us: we will be criticized.
If we are gracious, generous, and compassionate towards others, these will return to our lives fully.
Prayer
God, thank you for your word. Help me always treat others with respect and a heart ready to forgive those who do me wrong. Let my attitude follow your teachings. In your name, I pray.
