24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24
Observation:
Paul is saying his final goodbye to the Ephesian elders as he set sail for Jerusalem. Verse 24 is a window into Paul`s deepest motivation. Paul has a single focus and a clear purpose for his life. It was not to get rich, or to have as a comfortable life as possible. Rather, Paul`s purpose was to finish his race well by testifying to the good news of God`s grace. What a beautiful mission! And what a privilege that this mission is not only given to Paul but to each one of us.
Application:
What a big privilege that we all have been called to testify to the good news of God`s grace. It`s God`s grace which gives us a firm foundation for our life. Because of His love and grace we don`t need to fear the future. As we will worship again today together, we will testify to the good news of God`s grace. Every day, in our action and words we are called to reflect the good news of His love and grace.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the privilege to be called to testify to the good news of your grace. Keep transforming my heart with your grace and help me today to be a witness to your grace in words and deeds. Amen.
