Scripture
11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.
— 2 Thessalonians 1:11
Observation
With “what” in mind?
The verses before talks about perseverance and faith during persecutions and trials, leading to suffering.
But for those who perseveres during the suffering, they are “counted worthy of the kingdom of God” ([[2 Thess 1#5|v5]]).
The scripture also teaches us that God is our judge and He will bring justice to us, for those who troubled us, on the day that we are glorified with him.
And now Paul prays that “our God make you worthy of his calling”. The “calling” here does not mean “avocation” or “employment” but the divine fact of us been summoned by Him to be His. Both connects: to be “worthy of the Kingdom of God” and to be “worthy of His calling”.
Application
Am I living a life that I can say it is “worthy of the Kingdom of God”. Not in terms of earning the kingdom by doing good deeds (which we could never earn it), but is my perseverance and faith in the Lord, while going through persecution, trials and sufferings displaying the worthiness of His calling, His Kingdom?
And how that is worthiness is displayed?
It is when the name of Jesus is being glorified in me, in every action, in every result, in every deed I do by faith in Him.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, work on my heart. I pray that God will make me worthy of His calling, worthy of His Kingdom. May my life displays your glory to other around me. In Jesus name’, I pray.
