Don’t Stop!

Scripture
Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there.” — ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭16‬:‭6‬-‭7‬‬NLT
Observation
Paul heard from the Holy Spirit not to enter Asia twice. The text doesn’t tell us how Paul knew of this. Perhaps it was through vision or dream. It was even possible that the Holy Spirit closed doors that prevented them from entering.
We may have times when our plans are not what God wants for us and will guide us away from those plans. Even if our motives are right, it is God who will direct us as stated in Proverbs 16:9. Let our prayers be in alignment with God’s plans. Let us seek out God before undertaking projects and plans, especially those we think we are doing in Jesus’ Name.
We may not get a clear “Yes”, “No”, or “Wait.” Like Paul, let our ears, hearts, and minds be open and sensitive to God’s leading. God will open doors and provide circumstances that are in alignment with His calling and purposes. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. “ Romans 8:28 NIV
Application
First seek God. Matthew 6:33. I feel there are so many decisions that are made throughout the day, and many of them are without consulting God. I need to let God in on my plans, my thoughts, and meditations. Perhaps He will find bad motives in my heart or lack of planning. I need to be able to come to God with both small and big decisions. Let Him into my life and allow Him to be fully present, rather than just during “only when I need Him” times.
Be both Hearers and Doers. James 1:22
My life should also follow through with what God is telling me about. If He speaks through His Word to me, I need to follow it up with action.
Don’t stop. Philippians 3:13.
Paul says He stops looking back and presses forward toward the goal. Paul didn’t just stop when he got a “no.” He kept pressing forward until He got a “Yes.” We can often get discouraged by “No’s” but forget them and move ahead.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for having a wonderful plan for me. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice so I am able to come before God with my plans. I ask for Your directing and provision to accomplish all that You have for me. I ask that you clear my heart and open my ears and give me the strength to keep moving forward. Thank you again for this Word! I love you and ask of this in Your Name, Jesus. Amen
in Your Name, Jesus. Amen
