Scripture
“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!””
Romans 10:14-15 NLT
Observation:
People will not know who Jesus is if no one tells them. Were we not given the calling to make disciples of the nations? Paul is charging us to go out and share this wonderful news that Jesus Christ is the one who saves! Through Him, for those who believe in Him and call upon Him as Lord and Saviour will be saved! They will have eternal life! Their sins are washed away by grace and they are righteous and redeemed through Jesus! No matter how ugly our past was, there is forgiveness and acceptance in Him, Jesus! But how will people know this? Paul is charging us to go out and share this wonderful news!
Application:
Thinking about the last sentence, “How beautiful are the feet of messenger who bring good news,” I couldn’t but think of moments when someone brought good news to me or comforted me. Hearing someone you love walk through the door and saying “I’m home!” Hearing the results of an interview, that you got the job or were accepted. We all have occasions where someone has lifted our spirits, been the answer you have been praying for, when they told you of the news. In this season, it is a reminder to share this Good News of Christ. It is a time of joy and happiness for some, but it is also a time where people feel lonely and drowning in worry, hurts, sadness, and hopelessness. How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news to those that are perishing.
I am reminded of the calling I have to reach the lost. I am reminded that I need to reach out more to those who are needing encouragement and love. I learned from Pastor Wayne that I need to communicate to those I can. He says since we are in the End Times, there is a sense of urgency to reach out to others. What can I do, who can I talk to?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you so much for the reminder through Your Scripture. I pray for the strength and power I may need to reach out to those who are in need. I pray for your guidance and peace, to share the Good News! Thank you for what you have done on the cross, that we have this hope in You. Thank you that we have grace all through Your sacrifice! Thank you so much Jesus! I ask of this in Your Most Precious Name, Jesus! Amen!
