Scripture (S): 1 Chronicles 28:20 (NIV)
“David also said to Solomon his son, ‘Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you.’”
Observation (O):
- King David, nearing the end of his life, imparts wisdom to his son Solomon.
- The command to “be strong and courageous” echoes Joshua’s charge to the Israelites as they entered the Promised Land.
- David emphasizes the importance of doing the work assigned to Solomon.
- The reason for courage and lack of fear lies in the presence of the Lord God.
Application (A):
- When encountering challenges, God desires that I recall His promise and His presence.
- Where can I today encourage people to be courageous by trusting God in all they are doing?
Prayer (P): Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your presence with me. Strengthen my resolve and courage as I undertake the tasks You’ve entrusted to me. Guide me to encourage others today to follow Your path. Amen.
