HIS WAYS

Scripture:

““My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT

Observation:

Isaiah reveals something that we all have questioned, “Why, God?” God says all the things that we can think of or understand is far below anything that He imagines. That His ways are higher than we can even began to grasp. Isaiah is not saying this to discourage us from asking God questions but to keep us humble when we do.

Application:

Like a father, we can come to God when we do not understand things, we desire guidance and direction. He does answer us through His Word, through our closing our mouths and listening to His Words spoken to our spirit and heart. I had a dream earlier this morning that really stirred my spirit. It was a simple question, “Would you go back in time to change things that could have saved your mom?” My answer almost left my mouth, “Of course!” But my mind went toward all that has happened that would not have happened otherwise. I also had an glimpse of what it would have looked like seeing me from a heavenly perspective as I rushed over to my mom while she was being escorted to the welcoming arms of Jesus. Finally I returned my answer, “How can I steal my mother from eternal bliss with God, just to satisfy my desires?”

I see how God had taken care of us and blessed us with uncountable things and that HE controlled the tiniest detail. Everything COMPLETELY beyond my understanding and imagination! I am thankful that God only reveals so much to help me comprehend. Anything more would be overload. I am humbled and at the same time thankful that God is in TOTAL control!

He is bending down over to me and says that I just need to trust Him in all circumstances, even when they are beyond comprehension. He got this so I don’t need to worry, ever. Just be obedient in what He says, and trust in His capable hands.

Prayer:

Dear God Almighty, thank you for being a patient and merciful Father. Thank you for all you do for me beyond what I can even start to comprehend! Thank you! I ask for your forgiveness for when I have pridefully come before you, questioning your ways. I submit to your ways and choose to trust in your capable hands. I love you and ask of this in your name, Jesus! Amen!
