“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”
Psalms 28:7 NIV
Observation
In this Psalm, David describes the Lord as:
- his Rock;
- his strength;
- his shield;
- a fortress of salvation;
- a shepherd.
The Lord:
- blesses;
- saves;
- hears the cry for mercy;
- helps;
- carries us forever.
Application
There is so many reason to thanks God. This Psalm worked as a reminder to my heart of who God is and what He does for me. My songs should praise Him, songs of thanksgiving.
Prayer
Lord, You are my Rock, my strength, my shield, my help, my showers, my salvation. Your are the source of the blessing that comes to me. Thank you. Help me to have a heart of gratitude, and give thanks to you always. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
